The history of Bahrain Bourse dates back to 1987 with the establishment of the Bahrain Stock Exchange (BSE), its predecessor. Since that time, the exchange has achieved notable milestones, significantly benefiting from the support of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the engagement of its stakeholders. In 2010, Bahrain Bourse was formally established as a shareholding company, succeeding the Bahrain Stock Exchange.

Post-establishment, Bahrain Bourse has actively joined various regional and international organizations such as the Union of Arab Stock Exchanges, the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS), the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), the Africa & Middle East Depositories Association (AMEDA), and the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA). This engagement greatly enhances its standing within global capital markets.
